Jackson Growth Alliance, a nonprofit organization focused on supporting existing business and industry in Jackson County while also pursuing new economic development opportunities, is working to establish a modern industrial development site capable of attracting future employers and investment to the county
JGA has control of property near the Southern Illinois Airport in Jackson County and is in process of evaluating infrastructure needs, environmental considerations, utility access, transportation connectivity, and overall development feasibility. Once this work is complete, the property will be positioned as a shovel-ready site for development.
Federal and State governments released record amounts of grants and loans to assist with COVID-related economic recovery such as:
JGA assisted local businesses and units of government to access these grants and also worked hard to secure additional funding the following year.
Recently, Jackson Growth Alliance partnered with a local business to secure a Rural Business Development Grant (RBDG) from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This competitive federal program supports economic growth in rural communities, and the funding will allow the business to expand its operations, invest in new equipment, and increase its capacity to serve the region.
